The Pennsylvania Commission for the United States Semiquincentennial (America250PA) was established by the legislature and Governor in 2018 to plan, encourage, develop, and coordinate the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, Pennsylvania's integral role in that event, and the impact of its people on the nation's past, present, and future.

As the birthplace of American democracy, Pennsylvania will stand at the heart of our nation’s 250th anniversary, a once-in-a-generation moment to reflect on where we’ve been and imagine where we’re headed.

America250PA has been working since 2018 to bring this ambitious celebration to life. The vision is simple and deeply personal: to ensure that every Pennsylvanian—no matter where they live—feels a profound sense of pride, connection, and belonging during this historic anniversary. Crawford County’s America250PA Commission was founded in 2024 as the local partner to execute this commemoration on the local level.

That’s why we are bringing the celebration directly to the people in our local communities and telling the stories that make our Commonwealth extraordinary through the America250PA 2026 Kick Off Events Tour and all of the signature events that will follow throughout 2026.

Each stop on the statewide Kick Off Events Tour will celebrate the unique character of each county while uniting communities through shared history, and a collective sense of pride in who we are—and who we are becoming.

The America250PA Team invites you to join us at this celebratory event in Crawford County as we kick off 2026… together.
