🕊A Walk Towards Healing - Join our fundraiser on June 9th, Sunday from 2 pm to 5 pm at Elmhurst University Campus 190 S Prospect Ave, Elmhurst, IL 60126. Help us reach our goal of $50,000, which will allow us to provide a cost-free, healing summer camp to 50 youth impacted by homicide in Chicago.Our summer Healing Camp program responds to the needs of youth impacted by trauma associated with the death and loss of a loved one due to violence. The camp provides treatment-focused, trauma-informed care, using evidence-based clinical interventions. Our counselors are experts in neuroscience and art therapy healing methods.

About the Walk:
The walk is approximately 2.25 miles. The walk will begin in the back of the Elmhurst University Frick Center building which is where the University Mall is located. The walk will begin promptly at 2 PM and will be completed by 5 PM. The course for the walk strolls through the beautifully manicured Elmhurst University grounds, by the awesome Be Bold Be Elmhurst mural, and through some of Elmhurst’s most historic neighborhoods. All ages are welcome at this family-friendly event.
How Do I walk?
The suggested donation for an adult is $25, $15 for seniors, $5 for kids. You can sign up to donate here: https://app.99pledges.com/fund/chicagosurvivors/donate
If you are part of a team, your team leader will sign you up based on the name and email you have provided.
How Can You Help?
You can help by walking, volunteering, donating, leading a team, by becoming a sponsor.
How Do I Become a Sponsor?
Please email volunteers at [email protected]. The cost to become a sponsor is $100 for the 2024 walk. The sponsor will receive:
1) A table on the day of the event near the start of the walk
2) A mention in the press release
3) Logo on the event website page
4) Logo on the event flyer
5) A Team bearing the sponsors name

Additionally, if you would like to donate in-kind donation items such as raffle giveaways, coupons, airline miles, etc, please email the details to [email protected]
How Do I Lead a team?
Please email volunteers at [email protected]. There is no cost to lead a team. We suggest each team make a goal of $200 to raise but this is a goal. There is not a mandatory amount to raise if your team falls short.
