Granite House, a psychosocial rehab clubhouse program is holding "A Walk to Remember." This event is in memory of Neena Pacholke, the WAOW journalist, who died by suicide August of 2022. June 29th is her birthday. Neena loved to walk up Rib Mountain, especially to see the sunrise or sunset. This is not an organized walk, but a way to take a moment in remembering her and all those who die by suicide every day. Granite House serves adults 18 and older affected by mental illness. 1 in 4 people are affected. We want to break down the stigma of mental illness and promote wellness. You can arrive between 8 and 10 am at the bottom of the road up to gather information on Granite House as well as an upcoming fundraiser we are holding October 5th in her memory. Details to come. If you are unable to walk up, feel free to drive up and reflect. This day is about memories.
