Freedom To Glide headline A Taste Of Soundle One Dayer in the Queen Victoria Hall Oundle as we double up for VicsGigs Christmas get together.
"Freedom to Glide (f2g) are a British rock band that masterfully blend sophisticated compositions with powerful storytelling. Andy Nixon and Pete Riley, two musicians whose collaboration began when they performed together in the Pink Floyd tribute show, Dark Side of the Wall. Their mutual interest in exploring profound themes through music led them to form f2g, where Nixon’s role as the lead vocalist, lead guitarist, primary songwriter, composer and producer, is perfectly complemented by Riley’s contributions as composer, keyboardist & visual creative.
While f2g started as a studio project, their live performances have now become an essential part of their identity. With the addition of John Jowitt on bass & backing vocals (Arena, IQ, Frost*), Rob Groucutt on keyboards, guitar & backing vocals (Tim Bowness, Rain) and Stuart Emms on drums (Gypsy’s Kiss), f2g’s live shows have become immersive experiences where their music reaches new heights adding new layers of complexity and energy to f2g’s music. This newfound chemistry between the five members has opened a whole new chapter in the f2g story. Their recent “special guest” appearance at Prog For Peart Festival (UK) resulted in a standing ovation! More recently f2g appeared at Prog Dreams XI, Boerderij (NL) and a headline show at De Pul (NL) it was a chance to at last play to their European fans."
Very Special Guests will be the amazing melodic prog rock band from Oxfordshire, Forgotten Gods.
The remainder of the one dayer will feature a couple of up and coming bands in The Frank Flight Band and local Oundle outfit Ice-9ine
And, we also have the brilliant Darkfish (Sheila Maloney) who will present a brand new audio visual experience featuring the solo album 'Beyond'. Sheila played in this year's Soundle as part of the Storm Deva band.
Doors at 12:30pm and finish by 10:15pm approximately.
Tickets are £25 in advance and £30 on the door.
