About this Event
About this Walk
This comparative analysis walk will be led by a land use and development plannerliving in the Crown Point East neighbourhood; a neighbourhood they have grown up in and returnedto. The walk will examine the fascinating dichotomy between Ottawa Street and Kenilworth Avenue. With so many apparent similarities there have always been significant differences between the twoarterial roads that border the same neighbourhood – both real and perceived. This walk will cover sections of each arterial, point out the numerous similarities and markeddifferences, talk about the general history and function of each, the land use policies and zoning that affect the arterials, and wrap up with discussions of perception and possible reasons for these differences as well as potential futures for development and positive change.
