A Simple Meditation Training - half day meditation course

The first stage of meditation is to stop distractions and make our mind clearer and more lucid. At this first stage we engage in breathing meditation as an important tool to prepare for our meditations. Breathing meditation is also a useful tool to calm our mind whenever painful feelings arise. On this course, we will practice simple breathing meditation and traIn in overcoming distractions to our meditation. We will learn how to overcome mental excitement – the busyness of mind that disturbs our concentration. We will also learn how to recognize mental sinking and dullness in our meditations and applying the opponent to overcome these.

Although this is a simple practice, all students, new and advanced can benefit on this morning course by sharpening tools to overcome mental sinking and excitement through the practice of mindfulness and alertness.

Join our Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Kunden for a special Saturday morning meditation course, suitable for all levels, with a meditation practice that will benefit us throughout our life.

Each session will consist of short teachings, prayers and meditations with refreshments between sessions.
