Join us at the Blake Planetarium for a deeply immersive experience that blends science, art, music, and mindfulness.
Our feature presentation, Bella Gaia – Beautiful Earth, invites audiences to see our planet from a new perspective, one often described by astronauts as the Overview Effect. Through breathtaking NASA visualizations and poetic musical composition, this fulldome journey carries viewers across Earth’s landscapes and cultures, from ancient Egyptian tombs and Indian rituals to cherry blossoms and the vibrant cityscapes of Tokyo and New York. Bella Gaia explores the evolving relationship between human civilization and Earth’s ecosystems, illuminating our shared impact on the planet in a way that speaks to both the intellect and the heart.
The evening concludes with Sunset Meditation, a gentle, guided experience created by Ball State University. Travel visually from the Grand Canyon to the North Pole as the Sun sets, then settle into a peaceful night sky filled with stars and glimpses of the Northern Lights. This meditative program encourages relaxation, reflection, and a quiet sense of connection to the natural world.
