About this Event

Four seasons. Four menus. One conversation between tea and food.

Curated by Teakan and Gee Wong, sous chef at Say Hey Cafe, each volume explores how thoughtfully paired teas intertwine with intricate, seasonal dishes. This season, we're chasing the feeling of midsummer: the glare of a hot afternoon, smoke curling off the grill, ripened fruits and vegetables that stain your fingers.

- THE MENU -

Summer Pickled Vegetables, 3 Ways
Bright, crisp, balancing sweet & savoury notes.
Pair with: First Flush Dragonwell

Country Pork Terrine with Pistachio & Dried Prune
Rustic and rich, and made for slow summer afternoons
Pair with: Taiping Houkui Wild Red

Glutinous Rice-stuffed Chicken Wing, Strawberry Gochujang Glaze
Sticky-sweet, deeply savoury, with an unexpected kick
Pair with: Hong Kong Long Roasted Tie Guan Yin

Chanterelles & White Snow Fungus, Sweet Corn Tortellini
Silken, creamy and bursting with the sweetness of summer
Pair with: Shui Xian, Wuyi Cliff Oolong

Popcorn Ice Cream Mochi filled with White Chocolate Corn Crèmeux

Pair with: Tamaryokucha, Green Tea

Each pairing is built to hold that heat and shift it. Tea meeting flame, sweetness meeting char, one sip resetting the palate for the next bite. Featuring Claydiia's hand-thrown cups, where no two are quite alike, making the experience personally yours.

MEET THE TEAM

About Gee Wong
Gee cooks with curiosity and a deep respect for the season. Drawing on her years at Farmer's Apprentice, Ugly Dumpling, and Au Comptoir, her food speaks through honest flavours, thoughtful technique and an honest celebration of local ingredients.

About Teakan
Teakan 茶間 is a women-owned boutique tea company based in Vancouver, dedicated to creating refined and immersive modern tea experiences rooted in tradition.

Founded by Jan and Claudia, Teakan focuses on fine single-origin specialty teas, selected for their aroma, flavour, and origin stories. Each tea reflects its place and cultural heritage.

Through immersive tastings, workshops, and bespoke private and corporate events, they create spaces where tea is experienced not only as a beverage, but as culture, dialogue, and a catalyst for meaningful connection.

About Claydiia
Claudia took her first pottery class on June 2, 2015, and fell deeply in love with clay almost immediately. At the time, she was working in the fast-paced finance industry in Hong Kong and discovered that pottery had the power to melt away stress. The throwing process became her form of meditation.

In early 2019, she began teaching part-time at Two Parts Studio, sharing her passion with a small but active pottery community. The most rewarding aspect of teaching is seeing how others interact with clay and watching students fall in love with ceramics, just like she did.

She moved to Vancouver just before the pandemic. This unexpected pause allowed her to invest in her other passions, including completing a yoga teacher training. Realizing there had never been a better opportunity to become a full-time potter, she created her first collection of functional tableware.

Life is all about experiences. Claudia finds inspiration in everyday moments, conversations, and the quiet details of life. At the wheel, time slows, and each piece becomes a work in progress guided by intuition, patience, and trust.
