A Love From Outer Kingsland aspires to pay homage to Sean Johnston and the late, great Andrew Weatherall. Their club night and mix series, A Love From Outer Space showcased their passion for the slower sound, slinging “slow building atmospherics and a sense of graceful, determined sleaze”, ALFOS has garnered a cult following around the world.
In the heart of bustling Kingsland is an oasis of shady greenery tucked neatly into an unassuming corner of New North Road. Providing a variety of delicious refreshments and an atmosphere of relaxed contentment to accompany your journey into sound, this is the place to be on 27 September. Join us for a Sunday session that will allow you to cast off the hurriedness of city life and slink into a leisurely afternoon of sonic beatitude in one of Auckland’s best kept secrets. We’re here to wind you down, not up.
After quietly working in the background to run this event since its inception, we decided it’s time for Heylady to hit the decks. More recognised for her high energy sets, she is also an avid collector of down tempo and low-key house. She's played chill sets at Rhythm and Alps, Kiwiburn, Burning Man and has opened many a dance floor with her slinky sounds. Expect some rare cuts, deep grooves, uplifting vocals and a surprise or two thrown in for good measure.
Finn Jackson has become a driving force in Tāmaki Makaurau’s underground scene. The brains behind Dark Faces, he’s responsible for bringing through some hefty internationals and throwing some unforgettable parties. As a DJ, he is silky smooth. Capable of laying chunky sound as well as deep goodness, his sets are always a highlight and we are excited to see what he'll bring to the party.
Cyril Orson has spent most of his life dedicated to incredible sound with a career that spans decades and has taken him around the world. You’re just as likely to catch him laying prime-time techno as you are to see him slink into the deep and dusty sounds of summer. Cyril is a world class act, and the anchor for this event.
