A Little History 2.0 is a 60 minute, interactive experience that tells the simplified stories of nine historical moments in Black History through original music and poetry. Performed on gyil, the moments represented include Benin City, Africans in the Americas (Mansa Abubakari II), Igbo Landing, Seneca Village, the First Black Deliverywoman (Mary Fields), Airship before Airplane (Charles F. Page), When Black People Tell our Stories (Tulsa Race Massacre), A Math Genius (Katherine Johnson), and Celebrating Juneteenth.
Parking & Accessibility:
Free parking lot next to the library with accessible ramp at the front entrance. The Community Room is on the left upon entering. Public WiFi available. The Roxbury Branch Library is fully accessible, featuring a new elevator, a wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking, and restrooms, and enhanced technology for the hearing impaired.
