Join the Jackson District Library for a FREE and engaging presentation on the history of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra! This event will take place at the Carnegie Branch of the Jackson District Library on April 10th at 6pm.
JDL’s historian, Nathaniel Arndts, will guide you through the inspiring story of how the JSO grew from the talented and resilient Jackson community into the thriving symphony, community music school, and performing arts organization it is today. Since its founding in 1949, the JSO has been a source of pride, bringing world-class music to generations of Jackson residents for 75 years.
This is a unique opportunity to learn about the JSO’s legacy, musicianship, and the events that have kept it at the heart of the Jackson community for three-quarters of a century. The presentation will begin with a 30-minute historical overview, followed by a 10-minute inside look at the 75th Diamond Celebration Classical Concert, presented by Executive and Music Director Matthew Aubin.
Come explore the history of the JSO, share your own memories, and perhaps leave with a renewed excitement to experience live music in Jackson.
