About this Event
This free event is for anyone interested in growing and accessing local food including home gardeners, market growers, food lovers, and local farmers.
With the expected change in weather patterns, developing a response to climate change is essential to strengthening the resilience of our local food systems. For example, unprecedented flooding and drought are among the many relevant concerns for those who grow food. How can we create systems that mitigate the damage, recover from impacts or harness the resources that these challenges provide? How can we be sure that food supplies are distributed equitably?
2:30-3:00 Local food sampling, networking and connecting with local businesses through tabling.
3:00- 4:00 Panelists from various backgrounds will respond to attendees’ interests in growing, producing, and selling foods in our region
4:15- 5:30 Small group discussions in different topic areas of mitigating climate change impact in our region
The discussion is intended to spark conversation amongst audience members and may be followed by intimate group discussions in different topic areas of mitigating climate change impact
