Fusion Forte presents 4 hours of Belly dance Workshops, followed by A Shimmy Showcase. Learn with us during the day, and enjoy the show at night!

Salimpour Style Layering and drills (with Zills!)
Instructor: Elianae Stone
Cost: $40
Elianae loves the layering and drilling style of the Salimpour format, and is delighted to share her knowledge and experience with you!
This workshop will be structured based on the Suhaila Salimpour format and class composition including warm-up, technique, vocabulary, and nomenclature. Zills will be used. Please bring water, a yoga mat (optional), and be ready to move and try new fun challenges such as glute squeezes, layering footwork, hips, chest, AND cymbals at the same time! Her format makes you a stronger dancer, better at isolations, no matter what your style of dance!
Elianae is level 1 and 2 certified in the Salimpour Technique and method of bellydance.

Andante to Allegro- exploring Fusion dance
Instructor: Bez Ann
Cost: $30
In this workshop we will explore movements in the fusion dance format and how they can be used to articulate different rhythms. Focusing on isolation and musicality, class will begin with beginner friendly combinations that will be built upon throughout the workshop. The first hour will focus on slower, more fluid movements (Andante) and the last hour will focus on higher energy, quick movements (Allegro) .
This workshop is All Level. Technique will start at beginner level with intermediate additions.
Wear comfortable clothing, bring water, And zills! (zill patterns will be giving for those willing to try!)

Instructor bios:
Elianae (Danielle Elianae Stone) is a versatile dancer and Fitness Instructor with a lifetime of Movement Experience. Graceful technique, professional costuming, accessibility, fun and more can be found when working with or studying with Elianae. Her cultural sensitivity and attention to each individual in classes or performances make for a rewarding, uplifting experience.
Elianae has trained in Egyptian style Belly dance, American Cabaret, Fusion and Folkloric styles, as well as Bollywood and Ballet. She also is a Contributing Author to such Publications as the Gilded Serpent, and is featured in Books such as the Bellydance Reader Vol.1 and 2. Bez Ann is a native to the Quad Cities where she has instructed and performed Fusion Belly Dance for 15 years. She holds 2 certifications in Raqs Sharqi via The Jasmin Jahal School of Oriental Dance, and has over 100 hours invested in ATS and Tribal Fusion Style which she received from a variety of different teachers over the course of ten years. She has performed at ShimmyFest (2017, 2019), Fusion Evolution/Tribal Revolution (2013,2014, & 2017), and many local events including Pride Fest, Greek Fest, Festival of Trees, and Venus Envy. She has taught classes all over the qc, including sessions at Black Hawk College, Sunshine's Dance academy, and Haus of Om. She took a brief hiatus from teaching but plans to return with a session at the Arts Collective Studio. (Stay tuned!)
