Marilyn started riding before she could walk. Once she had a solid foundation she began riding under Carla Sharp. She soon bought her first horse Abbey Road and became highly successful in the children’s jumpers. Marilyn then attended UConn where she rode in the division and was the team captain her senior year. She discovered her love for teaching while at UConn working as a teaching assistant and turned professional soon after graduation. After UConn, Marilyn moved to Massachusetts to teach at the Stoneleigh Burnham school for five years. Marilyn then returned to Connecticut working for a few different farms before starting her own training business. Lighthouse Hill has grown quickly into a 30 plus horse training and boarding facility based out of Oak Meadow Farm in East Windsor. Marilyn specializes in quirky horses and shows successfully in the hunters and jumpers as well as coaching students to success in hunters, jumpers, and equitation. She is currently bringing along her 5 year old Dutch mare with hopes of bringing her up the levels into the Grand Prix.
