Sue is the fifth generation of a show business family.She trained at Elmhurst Ballet School, and after numerous pantomimes, summer seasons, cabaret, clubs and conventions, went into Musical Theatre performing in Cabaret, Barnum
and Follies.
In 1989, Sue and her dad, Peter, went to work for Walt Disney World at the British Pavilion, Epcot Centre, Orlando, Florida. The longest contract they had ever had - 8 years!They had a
ninth year contract but decided to go to Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida where they performed in Fundango.
Her presentation includes a brief history of her family, what it was like to be in “Variety” day to day, from her point of view and of performers, agents, landladies etc.
Sue interviewed over 90 performers, agents, producers etc. for her PhDd.
Sue has an amazing archive and likes to bring a selection of photographs, programmes, contracts and other ephemera on Variety Theatre to each event.
