The True Cost of Wool is a powerful and eye-opening exploration of the wool industry - from raw fleece to finished garment. Author and fibre farmer Anna Hunter uncovers the environmental, social, and economic realities of the global wool supply chain, with a particular focus on how imported wool dominates the Canadian market and what we’ve lost in domestic infrastructure. Combining data, storytelling, and a hopeful vision, the book shows how wool can be a climate solution, a rural economic driver, and a community-builder. For makers, educators, and fibre lovers alike, The True Cost of Wool is a rallying call to reclaim our textiles and rebuild local fibre economies from the ground up.
