A Beginners Class in Watercolour with artist Linda WillsLinda is keen to pass on her knowledge to others interested in learning watercolour painting; a skill often passed over in favor of acrylic painting.
These 4-week watercolour classes will give you the basics, help point you in the direction of your passion, be it flowers, the sea, skies, trees, boats, people, and set you on your course. Learn how watercolour behaves, how much water to use, how to blend colours and do washes. Use the colour wheel for more effective paintings. The importance of shadow to emphasise the light. What to paint first in a picture. How to do skies.
Basic perspective. Drawing with the right side of the brain
Painting pets and other animals
Flowers
People
Using mixed media and other techniques
Each day you will go home with a painting or two after applying your new knowledge. By the end of the course, students will have a wealth of new knowledge and the confidence to tackle any watercolour painting subject on their own.
Linda started painting children and fell in love with each and every face. From there she thought, “Why not all people? Why not animals?” Sure enough, Linda loves each and every face she paints. Indubitably, Linda paints other things with enthusiasm, but faces are her passion. In the last couple of years, Linda has found herself illustrating children’s books - how lucky she is to have fallen into this vocation.
She sees the Art Collective Project as the perfect way to attract people from Central Auckland who would enjoy and benefit from developing a creative interest.
Feel free to contact Linda on 021.825.960.
