Pratyahara, the fifth limb of Patanjali’s Eightfold Path, is often described as the withdrawal of the senses, yet it is more accurately understood as the practice of conscious sensory regulation. Rather than shutting the world out, pratyahara teaches us how to soften reactivity to sensory input so the mind can settle and inner awareness can emerge.
In this two-hour experiential workshop, participants explore pratyahara as a bridge between external practices (asana and pranayama) and internal practices (concentration and meditation). Through guided sensory awareness, gentle movement, breathwork, sound, and periods of intentional stillness, participants learn how to create internal space, reduce overwhelm, and cultivate presence.
This workshop is especially supportive for those experiencing sensory overload, stress, fatigue, or difficulty settling into meditation.
