On Sunday, November 16th- join Table to Table, CommUnity Crisis Services, Iowa City Bike Library and the amazing bike community of Iowa City (& beyond) to participate in the 7th Annual Cranksgiving Iowa City! We’re also thrilled to announce that this year’s event is presented by New Pioneer Co-op, with supporting sponsors Total Health Chiropractic & Wellness, Joseph's Steakhouse Iowa City, and Big Grove Brewery (Iowa City)!Cranksgiving is a two-wheeled food drive that blends community-building, giving, and adventure. Push your pedals with a purpose as you pack your bike bags with much-needed food and household items for CommUnity Food Bank at Pepperwood Plaza, Johnson County’s largest and busiest food resource. You’ll navigate city streets, urban trails, and store aisles to find the specific items listed on the manifest (scavenger hunt shopping list).
It costs nothing to register! You’ll need a bike, a helmet, a lock, and a bag (or basket, or rack, or cargo bike, or trailer, or other creative solution) to carry the goods. You’ll also need money (to purchase food items) and a charitable attitude! This event is intended to be “easy like Sunday morning” (not a race).
Oh- and Big Grove is providing Breakfast Burritos for early registrants, so don’t procrastinate!
