7TH ANNUAL 9/11 RUCK TO REMEMBER
About this Event
On September 12, 2026, the University of Miami Army ROTC will host our 7th Annual 9/11 Ruck to Remember — a 9.11-mile ruck march through Coral Gables in honor of the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the men and women who answered the call to serve in the years that followed.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of September 11th. We carry weight, so that we never forget theirs.
What to expect:
- 9.11mile ruck march beginning at 6:00 AM
- Open to all: cadets, veterans, students, faculty, and community members are welcome
- Carry whatever weight you can: a backpack, a ruck, or just yourself
- Flags, formation, and a moment of remembrance at the start
Fundraiser:
This year we are accepting donations to support the UM Army ROTC program and cadet development. All contributions go directly toward equipment, training, and opportunities for our cadets. Participation is completely free; donations are welcome but never required.

We are offering 45lb plate rentals for participants who would like ruck weight. Participants may reserve a plate using the link and pick it up prior to the event at the Wellness Center. Availability is limited, so reserve your plate early!
