Minatra, retired from the U.S. Army as the third-highest decorated Tennessean to serve in the Vietnam War in 1973. He has earned a host of awards, including the Distinguished Service Cross, three Bronze Stars, a Purple Heart and induction into the Ranger Hall of Fame in 2001.To honor his memory the The Ranger Association and MSG Minatra Descendents have joined forces with the American Legion Post 60 Pulaski to Honor 2 High School Seniors, 1 Richland High and 1 Giles County High School Districts.
