About this Event
The San Pablo Baylands have long been a focal area for Sonoma Land Trust’s conservation work. From its first tidal marsh land donation in 1983, SLT has steadily worked on protecting this broad swath of land where Sonoma County meets the Bay, from the Petaluma River to Sonoma Creek. Special guest Wendy Eliot, former SLT Conservation Director, will share the stories of how that first land donation sparked a decades-long initiative to bring back the tidal marsh and ensure habitat protections as a buffer to sea-level rise. Julian Meisler, Associate Stewardship Director, will talk about our current and future conservation and restoration plans.
