Become a Laguna Guide: Welcome Visitors, Support Events
About this Event
Laguna Guides are the friendly, essential presence behind our public programs—helping events run smoothly while creating a welcoming experience for every visitor. From greeting guests and orienting attendees, to supporting event setup and cleanup, Guides make it possible for people to fully engage with presentations, workshops, and nature experiences with the Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation.
This is a hands-on, community-centered volunteer role for people who enjoy working with others, supporting education in action, and being part of a mission-driven team. You don’t need to be an expert—just someone who’s reliable, welcoming, and willing to pitch in.
In return, you’ll gain behind-the-scenes access to Laguna programs, continuing education opportunities, and connection with a warm community of staff and volunteers. You’ll also be invited to volunteer socials and special outings throughout the year.
Training Schedule (10 hours total):
- Thursday, October 1 (5:30–8:30pm): Meet the Laguna and the work of the Foundation
- Saturday, October 3 (9am–3pm): Indoor training at Heron Hall with an outdoor walk to Irwin Creek (lunch provided)
The $45 fee includes a training binder, name tag, and lunch. We offer a sliding scale registration to keep this training accessible to all. Please choose the level that best fits your circumstances.
A commitment of at least 3 volunteer hours/month is requested after completion of training. Most shifts occur on evenings and weekends, with occasional weekday mornings.
