50th Aiken's Makin' Arts & Crafts Show - Friday

The sight of colorful paintings and creative crafts, the smell of funnel cakes and kettle corn, and the delight of shoppers when they find just the right gift for someone special – these are just a few of the traditions that have made Aiken’s Makin’ a community favorite for five decades. This year, the Aiken Chamber invites the community to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Aiken’s Makin’ as the beloved arts and crafts show returns to downtown Aiken on September 11 and 12.
Keeping the quality of the arts and crafts offered fresh and exciting is an important key to the success of Aiken’s Makin’. This is why Aiken’s Makin’ is a juried event. Each application and its required accompanying photos are carefully reviewed by a selection committee, and being selected one year does not automatically guarantee a place in the next year’s event. Last year, 30% of the vendors were brand new.
Attendees will enjoy shopping from well-spaced booths lining the closed streets and beneath the canopy of trees along Park Avenue from Chesterfield Street to Union Street. From handcrafted jewelry and home décor to original artwork, specialty foods, and unique gifts, visitors can expect a wide variety of high-quality creations from talented artisans across the region.
For 50 years, Aiken’s Makin’ has earned a reputation for offering a relaxed, friendly, and family-friendly atmosphere that celebrates creativity and community. There is no charge to attend the event. Show hours are Friday, September 11, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, September 12, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
