Experience the thrill of a guided self-drive 4×4 adventure through the green lanes of South, Mid and North Wales. This five-day tour includes four nights of camping and takes you along some of the most iconic and lesser-travelled routes in Wales.
Itinerary
Saturday 8th August 2026
Meet at 09:45 near Aberafan Beach for a welcome, introduction, and safety briefing. The first trails take us north through the Afan Forest, before driving the iconic Sarn Helen Roman Road (green lane) into Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons). The day finishes around 16:00 near Sennybridge – Brecon Beacons Wild Camping – https://www.facebook.com/breconcamping
Sunday 9th August 2026
We make our way along Trecastle Rooman Road into Carmarthenshire, exploring Sennybridge training area and Tirabad Roman Road. The route heads north towards Llandrindod Wells and into the heart of the Elan Valley for our overnight camp at Elan Oaks.
Monday 10th August 2026
After camping overnight in the Elan Valley, drive the iconic Strata Florida green lane. The day concludes around 16:30 back at our riverside campsite in the Elan Valley.
Tuesday 11th August 2026
We pack up camp and head north to trails around Nant Yr Arian, Nant Y Moch, and the Dyfi Estuary. Camp overnight in the shadow of Cadair Idris, the second highest peak in Snowdonia National Park.
Wednesday 12th August 2026
Explore more lanes around Eryri National Park (Snowdonia), concluding with fantastic views (weather permitting) of Cardigan Bay and Barmouth.

Stay near Cadair Idris for a leisurely start or to visit the Mach Loop on Wednesday 12th August (£12.50 per night per person).
