42nd Singapore Bird Race® 2026
About this Event
Held annually since 1984, the , organised by , is one of the longest-running citizen science events in Southeast Asia. Through this race, we aim to promote the appreciation, awareness, and conservation of wild birds in Singapore, as well as to raise awareness about local biodiversity among the general public.
The Singapore Bird Race has also served as a valuable source of scientific knowledge regarding the distribution and conservation status of endangered bird species in the country. The data collected during this annual race has been used in guiding national conservation assessments and initiatives.
The Singapore Bird Race has been generously supported by our main sponsor, Mapletree Investments, since 2019. The 42nd Singapore Bird Race 2026 is organised in partnership with BirdLife International Asia and supported by National Parks Board.

Build your own teams and select from one of the following race categories. We welcome participants of all backgrounds, from beginners to experts!
1) Marathon (24 hours long) - For extreme birdwatchers
- 14 Nov (Sat), 12.00 pm -15 Nov (Sun), 12.00 pm
- 3 - 4 members per team
2) Sprint (5 hours long) - For advanced birdwatchers
- 15 Nov (Sun), 7.30 am - 12:30 pm
- 3 - 4 members per team
3) Novice (5 hours long) - For novice birdwatchers (2 or less years of birdwatching experience)
- 15 Nov (Sun), 7.30 am - 12.30 pm
- 3 - 4 members per team
4) Family (5 hours long) - At least 1 parent and 1 child of 12 years old or below
- 15 Nov (Sun), 7.30 am - 12.30 pm
- 2 - 4 members per team; At least 1 parent and 1 child of 12 years old or below
5) Youth (5 hours long) - For 13 - 18 years old
- 15 Nov (Sun), 7.30 am - 12:30 pm
- 3 - 4 members per team
6) School (Primary) (2 .5 hours long) - For primary schoolers; To be accompanied by 1 teacher
- 15 Nov (Sun), 7.30 am - 10.00 am
- 3 - 4 members per team; To be accompanied by a teacher
7) Changes in 2026
- All categories, except School (Primary), will be required to submit photos of their observations via memory card along with their logsheets.
- There is no ‘Photographer’ category this year.

- Per Primary Schooler/Youth (18 years old and below): Free - Registration is still required

1) Please register as a team by purchasing your team's tickets in one transaction, only after confirming all team members.
- Every team member has to be registered/have a ticket.

2) Race Ending & Submission Venue
- For all categories except School (Primary), Town Hall of Mapletree Business City (Address: 10 Pasir Panjang Road, Singapore 117438)
- For School (Primary), Promenade of Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park (1390 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 , Singapore 569982) - Transport will be provided to Closing Ceremony venue for Schools.
3) Award & Closing Ceremony Venue

Terms & Conditions
This event, including any pre- or post-event activities, may be covered by photography and/or videography. We may use these photographs, sound recordings, and/or videos for promotional purposes.
By registering for this event, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions:
1) You understand, accept, and acknowledge that by providing your personal data, information, you give your consent to Nature Society Singapore (“NSS”) to collect, use, and disclose your personal data for the specified purposes of enabling NSS to communicate with you; to facilitate the organisation of Singapore Bird Race®; to provide you with products and/or services; to respond to your enquiries or complaints; to provide you with information, invitations, and/or updates; and to disclose the same to any relevant third parties that NSS has engaged for the specified purposes.
2) You understand, accept, and acknowledge that the Nature Society Singapore retains the rights to use any photographs, sound recordings, and/or videos taken during this event as deemed necessary without seeking consent of any person captured. This includes any recording of the webinars in any form.
3) You understand, accept, and acknowledge that you are solely responsible for your own safety during the course of this event. The Nature Society Singapore, all organisers, and all sponsors shall not be held responsible for any mishap, accident, injury or death, as well as loss or damage to personal property that may occur during this event.
4) You understand, accept and acknowledge that you are required to read the safety guidance provided by Nature Society Singapore in lieu the Singapore Bird Race® before the commencement of the race, and will adhere to it throughout the course of the race.
