4 Week Brush Calligraphy and Watercolour Course - August 2026

Dates: Thursday evenings - 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th August

I’ve been practising modern calligraphy for over 10 years and teaching workshops for 5, and I know how important it is to feel supported as you start something new. This course is designed with complete beginners in mind - no experience needed, just a curiosity to learn and create.

Each week, we’ll gently build your confidence in brush calligraphy and watercolour techniques, combining the two into beautiful projects you’ll be proud to take home.

HERE’S WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

In our first session, you’ll receive your own starter kit:

✦ A printed workbook

✦ 4 high-quality brush pens (in different sizes)

✦ A Rhodia practice pad - your go-to space to build muscle memory and flow

You’ll learn:

✦ The foundations of brush lettering

✦ How to create bouncy, flowing calligraphy

✦ Simple layouts and composition

✦ Introductory flourishing techniques

✦ Easy yet beautiful watercolour florals and wreaths

Each session ends with a finished project – think greeting cards, gift tags, or framed pieces that you can gift (or proudly keep!).

By the end of the course, you’ll have a solid understanding of both fine and medium-tip brush calligraphy, along with easy-to-use watercolour techniques to enhance your work.

You'll leave with a full toolkit, new skills, and the confidence to continue creating well beyond the course.

This is more than just a course – it's a creative space to slow down, learn something new, and enjoy the process in a supportive, relaxed studio environment.
