Ikebana: Japanese Flower Arranging - The Flower Factory x Haus of Palette
About this Event
Rooted in principles of seasonality, minimalism, and intentional stem placement, ikebana is a practice as much about mindfulness as it is about aesthetics. Dating back to the sixth century, it offers a considered counterpoint to conventional floristry, and we're convinced it's one of the best ways to spend a Thursday evening.
Khin Chong is a London-based florist and ikebana specialist, and the founder of The Flower Factory London which is an independent floral studio and floristry school based in London. Khin has been teaching ikebana workshops across London for a number of years and is widely regarded as a skilled and encouraging teacher.
This workshop will take place in Hove, at Haus of Palette, an independent interiors boutique on Church Road nestled next to Hove Library. It's a warm, carefully curated space that feels like your home from home - and will be exclusively yours for the evening to practice your flower arranging skills.
On the evening, Khin will guide you through the key techniques and principles of ikebana design, working with seasonal branches, stems, and flowers. No prior experience is required. You'll leave with your own arrangement and the foundational knowledge to continue practising at home.
What's included:
All flowers and materials are provided. You will have the option to purchase a kenzan (the pin frog used in ikebana) and a display vase from Haus of Palette on the evening and 10% off any further purchases on the night.
