Join us for our 3rd annual Lavender Gala! The Lavender Gala is our main yearly fundraiser where we raise the money that allows us to:
- sponsor and be present at many of the Pride events across Nebraska
-hold events that support candidates and engage the queer community in the political process
-support our endorsed candidates
-present scholarships for queer students attending college in Nebraska
This year we are also raising money for a “Queer Candidates Fund” within the State Party so that when queer people run for office in Nebraska they will know that the State Party and the Stonewall Caucus will help level the playing field.
During our first Lavender Gala we saw the importance of creating spaces that can inspire Nebraskas queer youth to stay engaged in Nebraskas political process and fight for their rights, a space where they can be themselves without the fear of judgement or shame. For that reason we created the Stonewall Queer Youth Initiative sponsorship program. Sponsoring the SQY Initiative program allows us to bring out queer youth and their guardians to our events at no cost to them so they can hopefully come away from the event with the knowledge they are not alone in the fight ahead.
What to expect:
The night will consist of dinner, some drag performances, an award and scholarship presentation, inspiring speeches, a silent auction and raffle, and networking opportunities!
