Every Spring, sailors from around the country converge on Lake Monroe to compete against each other in a circumnavigation of the lake. This is the Trans-Monroe!
This one day event is hosted by the Lake Monroe Sailing Association and is in honor of G.W. McVay. Bill McVay built the Victoria 18 in Debary and sold them at Strictly Sail, where today the Lake Monroe Sailing Association calls home.
Skippers meeting is at 10:30. Following the race, we'll be having a bar-b-que and awards on our lawn. Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall, using Portsmouth ratings, with the winner receiving the Bill McVay perpetual trophy.
