Nebraska's largest annual dog-friendly event is back for another year.
The 37th annual Margre Durham Walk & Dog Fest will take place on Sept. 27, 2026, at the NHS Meadow (8929 Fort Street). Attendance is free, and sponsorship opportunities are still available!

Event Day Schedule
10:45 a.m.-1:45 p.m.: Shuttle buses run
11 a.m.: Gates Open
11 a.m.: Amazing Sponsors, Rescue Groups, Raffles, Family Zone, Food and Tito's Canine Cantina open
11:20: FlyBall demonstration
11:45 a.m.: Adoption Parade
12:00 pm: K9 Handler demonstration
12:30: FlyBall demonstration
1 p.m.: Take a mile long walk along the Keystone Trail
Come back and finish the day on the meadow
1:30 p.m.: Tito's Canine Cantina closes

FAQs
If this is a fundraiser, why is it free to attend?
You're right! The Walk & Dog Fest is the Nebraska Humane Society's annual fundraiser, and we would love for you to donate to support animals in need. However, we also view this event as a community celebration for loving and caring for pets, and we don't think there ought to be a price tag on joining that celebration. So, we hope you'll join us. We also hope you might snag a t-shirt, get a Golden Paw or eat a hot dog while you're celebrating!
Do I need to register?
You don't need to register to attend. However, if you'd like to get your Golden Paw and reserve your shirt ahead of time, or ask your friends to help support the animals, we would love that!
What about parking?
There will be parking in our main shelter parking lot. We also have complimentary parking available at Affordable Family Storage about a block away (to the north on 90th Street). There is a shuttle bus that will run from 10:45-1:45.
Can I bring my dog?
Of course!
Do I have to bring a dog?
Of course not! The Walk & Dog Fest is a celebration of all pets and their people - not just dogs. We also understand not all dogs love this event, and that's OK!
