Join professional artist Louise Duggan for a relaxed and welcoming three-hour workshop exploring abstract painting, mixed media, colour, texture, and creative expression.
Suitable for complete beginners as well as those with painting experience who would like to work more freely and confidently, this workshop focuses on process rather than perfection. Through a series of guided stages, you'll learn how to build a painting using layers, mark-making, texture, and colour, responding to the work as it evolves.
Along the way, Louise will share techniques developed through more than 30 years of working as an artist, helping you build confidence with acrylic paint while introducing a range of mixed-media materials, including paint pens, spray paint, and gold leaf.
By the end of the session, you will have created your own finished painting and gained a deeper understanding of how paintings develop through experimentation, revision, and exploration.

Louise Duggan is a West Sussex-based mixed-media artist whose work has been exhibited internationally and is held in private collections across the UK and Middle East. Her paintings explore memory, identity, movement, and what we carry through life, combining acrylics, mixed media, and gold leaf in richly layered surfaces.
