Tim Ashton and Athene Roberts are the lead instrumentalists and vocalists ofworld folk festival favourites 3 Daft Monkeys.
Based in Cornwall but reaching across continents, 3 Daft Monkeys are a genre-
defying folk-world powerhouse. As a duo they bring an original and electrifying mix
of Eastern and Western influences to their music, crafting a bold, vibrant blend of
styles. With soaring vocal melodies, fiery fiddle tunes, punchy guitar and bass
drum, their sound is polished, emotional and full of infectious energy.
The duo masterfully blends world folk inspirations with a sassy folk punk-infused
energy and modern storytelling. Many of their original tunes have emerged whilst
walking the rugged coast paths and beaches of Cornwall, inspired by the freedom
and untamed energy of the sea and wind. You can sense the spiralling movement
of the wind and the sea echoed in the wild energy of their songs, and sense it’s

Beloved on the festival scene, they’ve played main stages at Glastonbury, Lorient,
Beautiful Days, Sidmouth Folk Festival, Boomtown, Cropredy and countless
festivals across Europe, alongside support slots for The Levellers, Hawkwind,
Skinny Lister, Cat Empire and more.
