Discover the art of Kolachi, the cherished nut roll that has graced holiday tables and family gatherings for generations.
In this hands‑on class, students will learn how to create this tender, sweet‑yeasted pastry filled with a rich, velvety walnut filling—rolled, shaped, and baked to golden perfection.
*We’ll explore every step of the process, from mixing and proofing the dough to preparing the traditional nut filling with just the right balance of sweetness and spice.
*Students will practice proper rolling techniques to achieve that signature tight swirl, and we’ll cover tips for preventing cracks, achieving even browning, and storing or gifting finished rolls.
*Along the way, we’ll talk about the cultural roots of Kolachi across Central and Eastern Europe, how families adapt the recipe through generations, and creative variations you can make at home—poppy seed, apricot, chocolate‑walnut, and more.
By the end of class, each participant will leave with a Kolachi roll ready to bake or freeze, a printed recipe, and the confidence to recreate this nostalgic favorite for holidays, celebrations, or simply to share with loved ones.
Complementary light refreshments will be provided.
Please note, you will be bringing your nut roll home to bake in your own oven or freeze for future use. Please bring a small cooler of bag if you will not be returning home directly after class.

Please note- Ingredients in this class include nuts, eggs and wheat.
The workshop is limited to 8 participants.
We are keeping it small so we can give you great personal attention. If you are sick, please call us and reschedule.
We do require that you fill in all information so we can contact you if we have any questions regarding your reservation.
All materials will be provided the day of the workshop.
Due to the customization at ALL our workshops, there are NO REFUNDS FOR WORKSHOPS! However, if you cancel with at least 48 hours notice your FULL reservation fee will be turned into a store credit that can ONLY be used for future workshops. Same day cancellations or no-shows will NOT get a credit for a future workshop! Please private message us on Facebook or email us ([email protected]) or call at 330-568-4590 to cancel. If you are a “no show” for a workshop for which you have a spot reserved, you forfeit your payment.
