29th Annual Candlelight Cemetery Tour

The Gallatin City Cemetery is home to old-fashioned tombstones and towering memorials that date back to 1814. Many of Sumner County’s most fascinating characters are buried in that cemetery.

At the Candlelight Cemetery Tour, you will hear some of their life stories as you follow the candlelit path through the cemetery. For 2025, all characters portrayed are descendants of Jordan Gibson, a free man of color who served in the Revolutionary War.

On Saturday, Oct. 4, tours begin at 5 p.m.; a new tour starts every five minutes. The final tour begins at 9 p.m.

Tickets will be sold for specific start times and will only be available for purchase online.

This is a rain or shine event. Refunds will only be given in the event the organizer cancels the event. A Sumner County Museum event, 100% of the proceeds go directly to Museum programming and upgrades.* Assistance available for those with limited mobility for tours starting 5-6:59 p.m.*
