2,987 Steps Memorial 9/11 Walk

As we prepare for the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we are honored to be partnering with Towson University to host our 2,987 Steps Memorial 9/11 Walk on Sunday September 6th at Johnny Unitas Stadium.
The proceeds from this years event will benefit the memorial scholarship funds of four local HEROES.
Honor E. Wainio, TU Class of '95, Lizz was a passenger on United Flight 93 on 9/11.
Army Sgt. Major Wardell Turner, TU Class of '85, Wardell was killed while serving in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom in 2014.
Army Major Bob Marchanti, TU Class of '85, Bob was killed while serving in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom in 2012.
Dan McNeal, Loyola Blakefield, Class of '90, Dan was killed on 9/11 while working in his office in the WTC South Tower.
Pre-registration and sponsorship opportunities are now available at hopeandpeacefoundation.org by clicking on our events page and click on 2,987 Steps.
Fees are: $25.00 for adults, $15.00 for 1st Responders, Military, Students and Seniors. Free for age 10 and under.
Gates open at 7:15 AM - Onsite registration will be available
Opening Ceremony at 8:20 AM
We will have several starting times for groups of 250 walkers beginning at 8:46 AM. Once that time slot is sold out the next group time will begin 9:03 AM and then at 9:38 AM and 9:59 AM.
The walk will be 5 laps around the infield track equaling 2,987 steps, one of each of 2,977 victims and for the 10 unborn children.
