The Women’s Field Day is set to bring together local growers, industry professionals and community members for a day of learning, connection and practical insight. The mission of the event is to “To build the management capacity of women to make a difference to their family, farm business and the agricultural industry.”
Taking place on Tuesday 16th June 2026 at the Dalwallinu Recreation Centre, the event will showcase a diverse program designed to support informed decision-making, resilience and innovation across regional farming businesses.
The day will feature keynote speaker Di Darmody, former ABC Radio presenter, sharing her engaging and personal presentation “Stories from Behind the Microphone”, offering a unique perspective drawn from her career across regional Australia. Eric Nankivell from Farmanco will act as MC, as well as deliver a session on “Smart Decisions in Tough Times: Strategy, Risk and Successful Systems.” He will also facilitate a farmer discussion panel, providing practical, real-world insights into business decision-making, processes and systems they use.
A broad range of topics will be explored throughout the day, including autonomous and drone technology, global agricultural updates, HR management systems and processes, farm insurance, and insights into developments in the Indian lentil market. We will also hear from young growers about their roles and passions in their businesses.
Catering will be provided locally, with morning tea by Jenny's Bakehouse and lunch by The Old Convent.
