AMT Progressive Horsemanship Clinic
20–21 June 2026 | Gidgegannup, WA
Join us for the second AMT Progressive Horsemanship Clinic at our Gidgegannup facility.
These clinics are designed to be held regularly throughout the year, providing riders with the opportunity to continue developing their skills, build on previous learning, and progress alongside a supportive community of like-minded horse people.
Drawing on principles of classical dressage, biomechanics and modern horsemanship, the focus is on creating willing, confident horses and effective, adaptable riders through clear communication, correct foundations and progressive training.
Saturday – Foundations, Groundwork & Connection
Day one focuses on the foundations that underpin all successful training:
• Understanding posture and movement in both horse and rider
• Groundwork and in-hand exercises to improve communication
• Connection, attunement and emotional regulation
• Balance, relaxation and self-carriage
• Establishing clarity, boundaries and confidence
• Building understanding before progressing to ridden work
Sunday – Riding, Refinement & Application
Day two brings these principles into ridden work, focusing on:
• Rider posture and biomechanics
• Developing clear, effective aids
• Improving softness, straightness and balance
• Creating greater responsiveness and self-carriage
• Supporting young or green horses through correct education
• Addressing challenges caused by inconsistency, confusion or tension
The emphasis is on progressive, sustainable training that develops understanding rather than relying on force, repetition or quick fixes.
Clinic Format
• Small group sessions (4–6 riders)
• Morning and afternoon sessions
• Individualised coaching within a supportive group environment
• Opportunities for discussion and questions throughout the weekend
• Spectators welcome
Suitable For
✔ Beginner through to advanced riders
✔ Young, green or more established horses
✔ English, Western and Working Equitation riders
✔ Bit, snaffle, double bridle, hackamore or bitless horses

Fence sitters and spectators are welcome.
