2026 TAS Seminar - Sepsis, Or Is It?
Sepsis is a common and serious condition in critical care, yet its presentation is often complex and can be easily confused with other time-critical pathologies. The full-day education event will explore sepsis recognition, diagnostic uncertainty, and what to do when patients deteriorate but the clinical picture does not fit.
Using a case-based and interactive approach, the program will focus on early assessment, clinical reasoning beyond screening tools, and nursing leadership in escalation. Topics include sepsis mimics, the deteriorating patient, medical imaging in sepsis, emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, advanced therapies, and the longer-term impacts of sepsis on recovery and survivorship.
This event is designed for critical care and acute care nurses seeking to strengthen confidence, decision-making, and leadership when managing complex patients where sepsis is suspected, but not always the answer.
