Come "Unearth a Story" and kick-off your Summer Reading with us at the library. There will be display tables where you can sign up for all levels of Summer Reading: Adults, Teens & Tweens, and Kids.
However, you don’t have to wait until the kick-off to sign up for Summer Reading; you can sign-up online here: bit.ly/SummerReadSSCL
In fact, if you sign up by June 30, you will be elegible for special prize drawings, and you can still come to the kick-off just for fun.
The 2026 Summer Reading Program theme is "Unearth a Story."
Unearth a Story underscores the joy of discovery that reading brings, and reminds us that every person and every community has stories waiting to be found and shared – through books, programs, and local knowledge. Plus, we can use archaeology and dinosaurs as characters all summer, and who doesn’t love that?
Summer Reading runs through Saturday, August 22.
Each Summer Reading category, be it Kids, Tweens/Teens, and Adults, has its own way of recording the books read, audio books listened to, etc. If you have questions about how the three categories work, you may ask the staff below:
KIDS: Sue McConnell at: [email protected]
TEENS/TWEENS: Kayla Crane at: [email protected]
ADULTS: Michelle Wells at: [email protected]
