ELEVATED FINISHES: Pro tips for hemming and final touches that take your skirt from "homemade" to "handmade."
This is a great "next step" workshop. To ensure you have the best experience, you should have:
✅ Completed our Beginner Sewing Series (or have equivalent experience).
✅ Confidence using your machine for straight seams, finishing edges, and making buttonholes.
✅ A basic understanding of grainlines and seam allowances.
🎒 What to Bring to Class (We'll Supply the Rest!):
👗 The Fabric**: 2 ½ yards of 36-45” width OR 2 yards of 50” (or wider). Look for a lightweight, non-sheer woven cotton—like quilting cotton. See below for option to purchase fabric nearby.
🧵 The Thread: High-quality cotton-covered polyester all-purpose sewing thread in a matching color.
⚙️ The Gear: Your trusty sewing machine with all its accessories (don't forget the power cord, foot pedal and an empty bobbin!).
🪡 The Sharp Stuff: A few fresh machine needles (we carry them in the shop if you are funning low – you should plan to use a new needle for each project; dull needles can cause skipped stitches, broken thread and project anguish).
