The Caskey Center for Biblical Text and Translation is pleased to welcome Dr. Mark Strauss as he delivers the 2026 Page Lectures on Tuesday, September 22nd. His lecture will be titled, “Lost in Translation? Challenging Words for New Testament Translators: With Implications for the Goals, Methods, and Limitations of Bible Translation.

Dr. Mark Strauss is the University Professor of New Testament Emeritus at Bethel Seminary San Diego. Dr. Strauss is the author/coauthor of 20 books and many articles, and editor/co-editor of 40 volumes, with expertise in Gospels, Hermeneutics and Bible Translation. His books include 40 Questions on Bible Translation (Kregel, 2023), Four Portraits, One Jesus. A Survey of Jesus and the Gospels (Zondervan, 2007; 2nd ed. 2020), and Gospel of Mark, Zondervan Exegetical Commentary on the New Testament (Zondervan, 2014). He also serves as Vice Chair of the Committee on Bible Translation for the New International Version and as an associate editor for the NIV Study Bible.
