Make & Mingle: Wood-Burned Scarecrow Gourd Luminary 🎃🔥
Add a little handmade personality to your fall décor! Join us at The Makery in Downtown Wake Forest, NC for a fun fall wood-burning workshop where you'll transform a natural gourd into a one-of-a-kind light-up scarecrow luminary.
Your instructor will guide you step-by-step through the wood-burning process, including outlining, adding details, and creating shading and texture on your pre-cut and prepared gourd. Once your scarecrow's face has been burned, you'll bring it to life with color using a variety of leather dyes, alcohol inks, and acrylic inks.
Then comes the fun part: personality! Choose from different colors of raffia for your scarecrow's hair and finish him off with a straw hat and his very own corncob pipe.
We'll add an LED tea light inside the finished gourd, creating a warm glow that's perfect for displaying throughout the fall season.
No previous wood-burning experience is necessary. Grab a friend, bring your favorite drinks and snacks, and come spend the evening making with us!
