Student/Career DISC Workshop
About this Event
Student/Career DISC Workshop
Know how your student is wired. Choose a path that fits.
Saturday, September 26 | 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM | Bishops Grant, Wake Forest, NC
Most students pick a major, a first job, or a career path based on what sounds good, what pays well, or what someone else suggested. Very few pick based on how they are actually built.
This four hour, in person workshop changes that. Using the Maxwell Method DISC assessment, students walk in with a personalized report about their own behavioral style and walk out knowing how to use it. Not a personality quiz they forget by Monday.
A working tool for interviews, group projects, roommates, managers, and the conversations happening at home right now.
What your student walks out with
A personalized DISC report they keep. Every participant completes the Maxwell Method Student/Career DISC assessment before the workshop. The report is theirs for life, and we spend the session teaching them to actually read it.
Language for interviews and applications. Students leave able to describe their strengths in specific terms instead of saying "I'm a hard worker" like everyone else in the applicant pool.
A shortlist of environments where they'll thrive. Not a list of job titles. A clear picture of the pace, structure, and team dynamics that bring out their best, which is what actually determines whether a job or major sticks.
Practical communication skills. How to read the other three styles, how to adjust without becoming someone else, and how to handle the person who drives them up the wall.
A written action plan. Before they leave, each student fills out concrete next steps for the semester ahead.
What we'll cover
9:00 | Welcome and warm up. Fast, low pressure, no icebreaker anyone will resent.
9:30 | Your report, decoded. What D, I, S, and C actually mean, and where your student lands.
10:15 | Communication and conflict. Why some people click and others grate, and what to do about it.
11:00 | Strengths in the real world. Where your style is an asset, where it costs you, and how to manage both.
11:45 | Style and career fit. Connecting behavioral style to majors, roles, and work environments.
12:30 | Build your action plan. Written next steps, plus open Q&A.
Who this is for
High school (15-18) and early college students. No prior DISC experience needed.
For parents
This is one of the more useful four hour investments you can make in a student who is about to make some expensive decisions. It also tends to make the conversations at home go better, because everyone gets vocabulary for what has been causing friction. One parent is encouraged to stay as that will provide the best environment for the students success.
