2026 PACE Shreveport Mayoral Forum

PACE (People Acting for Change and Equality) will be conducting a Shreveport Mayoral Forum open to the public with the Shreveport mayoral candidates on Sunday, September 27 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the LSU Shreveport University Theatre (1 University Place, Shreveport, LA 71115). PACE is a nonpartisan organization that works to advance equality in Northwest Louisiana so that the LGBTQ+ community can lead open, honest, responsible, and safe lives at home and in the workplace. PACE has conducted previous Shreveport Mayoral Forums every four years since 2006. The candidate eventually elected mayor has participated in every forum.
A moderator will conduct an hour-long Q & A with the candidates followed by an informal meet & greet with attendees. Our previous mayoral forums have been very cordial and have given the candidates and our members a good opportunity to get to know one another better. PACE will not be endorsing any candidate as we are nonpartisan.
Public policy research shows that knowledge-based workers use a city’s attitude towards its LGBTQ+ community as a proxy to determine whether that city will provide a welcoming and stimulating environment that will fire innovation and entrepreneurship. We look forward to hearing the candidates’ views on how Shreveport can be welcoming and attractive to all who would come or stay here, to work hard and build a good life for themselves, their families, and this community as a whole.
