The 2026 National Day of Mourning is for remembering all workers injured or killed on the job. The first event of the day will be held at the Welland Canal Workers memorial, next to the St. Catharines Museum at Lock 3.
The Welland Canal Fallen Workers Memorial, unveiled in 2017, honours the 137 men who died while building the Welland Canal.
Wreath laying and speeches will be delivered at 730am before we move to the next site.
