2026 Youth Fishing Derby

Join us for a fun-filled day of fishing at the Lake Takanassee on Saturday, April 18, 2026! This exciting event is specially designed for young fishing enthusiasts aged 0-15. Get ready to cast your lines and reel in some amazing catches!

Whether you're a seasoned angler or a beginner, this fishing derby promises an unforgettable experience. Don't worry if you're new to fishing, as our friendly staff will be on hand to provide guidance and tips to help you improve your skills.

After the registration at 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, the event will kick off with a brief orientation to ensure everyone is familiar with the rules and safety guidelines. Once the fishing begins, you'll have the chance to compete against other young anglers to see who can catch the biggest fish or the most fish.

You are welcome to bring your own food, but there will be food trucks serving delicious food throughout the event!

If you are not looking to participate in the event but would like to help out, we have sponsorships available, and your name/business name will be recognized.

Remember to bring your own fishing rods, the bait and tackle will be included with the event. Feel free to bring snacks and drinks to keep you energized throughout the day. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun.
