2026 Kickoff - Kids Running Program

Location: Three Lakes Middle School Track

Time: 2:00–2:45 PM

Sessions are led by Coach RJ Cowan (M.S. in Kinesiology, Certified Personal Trainer, 16 years of coaching experience).

This program is designed to:

• Foster a love for running
• Build confidence and cardiovascular fitness
• Prepare youth runners for their next athletic step or goal

Whether your athlete plans to continue running, participate in the Healthy Kids Running Series, or compete in events like the Fresh 1K or 5K, this program provides a strong foundation.

🏁 Goal Race:
We will be working toward the Fresh 1K or 5K in Tyler, TX on March 7th. Participation is encouraged for athletes who are ready and capable.

• Group run sessions with other kids led by Coach RJ (5-12 years old)
• Professional and proven coaching, guidance, and encouragement
• Running form drills and basic movement analysis
• Practical running tips and Q&A
• An opportunity to meet your kid where they are at developmentally

• Athletes should bring their own water bottle each session
• Parents are welcome to relax in the stands or enjoy the track/field areas
• This is not a closed facility; the track and field remain open to the public
• Parents are responsible for prompt pickup at the end of each session
• Contingency plan for an occupied Track will be the Tyler Legacy Trails 2202 Three Lakes Pkwy, Tyler, TX 75703
