The Ride of Silence is a Global Event to raise cycling awareness by engaging cyclists to ride in support and solidarity with others around the world in a silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured on public roads.The Central Florida Ride of Silence is part of the Global RofS Event that is held worldwide the 3rd Wednesday of May at 7:00pm. This ride will be the same as the original Ride of Silence Clermont event held at Clermont Waterfront Park from 2012-2023. You do not need to register for this event, just show up and ride.
DATE:
Wednesday, May 20, 2026
LOCATION:
Clermont Waterfront Park. Gather on both sides of the trail adjacent to the event field.
TIME:
Gather at 6:30pm; Depart at 7:00pm
COURSE:
8 Mile loop around Lake Minneola. Cyclists who cannot ride 8 miles are encouraged to start in the back of the group and ride on the South Lake Trail to the Lake Hiawatha Preserve Roundabout and back.
SUPPORT:
Police escort in the front and back of the pack of cyclists.
Police will be stationed at major intersections where cyclists do not have the right away.
RULES:
Helmets are MANDATORY!
This is not a race! Max speed is 12mph.
This is a ride of silence! Please keep quiet during the entire ride.
As per Florida law, no earphones!
Participants assume all risks associated with riding on public roads and trails.
