TOWN OF SAND LAKE SEEKS VOLUNTEERS!The Town of Sand Lake is seeking volunteers to assist in our 2025 Spring Clean-Up Day on Saturday, May 3rd from 8:30 -12 beginning at Butler Park.
It is a time for our community to come together as one to celebrate both Earth Day and NYS “I Love My Parks” Day!! Volunteers of all ages are needed to help “Make Sand Lake Shine”.
We plan to spruce up several common areas to include, in and around Butler Park, the Town Beach, West Sand Lake, Veterans Park, hiking and biking trails, Averill Park Dykes, and a few roadways.
We need volunteers like you to make this event successful.
On the day of the event, we will gather at 8:30 at Butler Park for a kick-off event. At this time, you will be introduced to your Captains in charge of the different areas and will then travel to the respective areas for clean-up. Afterwards, we will reconvene no later than 11:45 at Butler Park for closing and recognition prior to release.
• Please dress appropriately (i.e., no open toed shoes)
• Bring work gloves if you have them, all other materials will be provided including water and snacks
• The Kiwanis Food Truck will be at Butler Park afterwards if you would like to grab a burger for a minimal charge (tentative)
NOTE: This is not a curb side trash pick-up event, although it is highly encouraged for residents to go out separate from this event to pick up and dispose of any trash around their immediate homes or roadways.
So come on out, work alongside your friends and neighbors to “Make Sand Lake Shine!”
